Firing on passengers Bus at Chillas, 19 Killed 8 Injured

Gilgat – Terrorists opened fire on a passenger bus near the Chillas area of Gilgat on Tuesday morning, resulting in the deaths of 19 passengers and 8 injuries. Most passengers belonged to the Hunaza area in Biltatstan province.

According to police, the terrorists stopped the 4 buses carrying passengers from Rawalpindi to Gilgat and started firing on the passengers. Sixteen passengers were killed on spot, and 3 more died in the hospital. More than eight more were seriously injured in the incident.

Most of the passengers who were killed belong to the Shia Community, where tensions are high now because of the killing. Local management imposed a curfew in the city for security reasons.

The associate group of the Tehreek Taliban Pakistan, Janduallh group, took responsibility for the attack at Chillas and said that, "they were Shia and have no rights for living".
